Trivia

  • The original "Night Light" was intended to be a one-shot story, never to spawn a sequel. Glenn even made a joke out of the idea of a sequel, "Night Light II: The Regurgitation" in a blog entry, sure that no such thing would ever come to be.

  • The first real idea for a sequel was nothing like what "Night Light II" came to be, aside from the inclusion of Judas Styx, the suicide demon from "Christian's Dilemma," who actually did play a major role in the sequel. The original idea would have had Ooga Booga, Judas Styx, and some other comical demons disrupting a live manger scene on Christmas Eve. It was to be titled "Ooga Booga's Holiday Hoedown." The idea of doing any sequel at all to "Night Light" quickly made its way to the back burner, the "Holiday Hoedown" was soon abandoned, and a sequel was once again considered uncalled for.

  • Glenn changed his mind, after getting to know his best friend's infant son, when he read the story again after years and was horrified by it. The idea for "The Trial of Ooga Booga" arose as a way to redeem the original story.

  • Through most of the writing, the sequel was simply titled "The Trial of Ooga Booga." The main title of "Night Light II" was added to make it clear that this was in no way a stand-alone story. It really is a seamless continuation of the first story and not intended to be read without "Night Light" as a prerequisite.
