Jonathan

Jonathan Scarsbrook was born to Silvanus Scarsbrook and Mary (Stokes) Scarsbrook. His older brother Benjamin Scarsbrook had been born in 1678. Jonathan lived with his family at Scarsbrook Manor. His brother eventually married a woman named Rebecca Robinette and brought her to live with them at the manor house on the third floor. In 1701, Jonathan married Amanda Prince and brought her to the manor house. Soon after, they decided to leave Scarsbrook Manor and get a house of their own. Before they could put their plans in motion, however, Benjamin’s brother committed suicide, hanging himself to death from a tree branch in the olive grove.
